Description of the neighbourhood:

The first train station in Poznan was just in Jeżyce. It was in 1848, and already some 20 years later, in this place a Zoological Garden was set up. Probably for most of Poznan inhabitants known better as "the Old ZOO" (Stare zoo). Now most large animals can be already seen at the New Zoo (Nowe zoo) in Malta, and the Old Zoo serves now more as a park. The central spot in the district is Rynek Jeżycki (Jeżycki Square), where you can stock up fresh vegetables and fruits.
